Cask Ale Takes Manhattan!

I was invited to New York City by my friend and fellow cask ale enthusiast Alex Hall (aka the Gotham Imbiber) to give a talk about my book and share a few stories about working with cask ale with the Malted Barley Appreciation Society for their July meeting. Around the same time, I approached my old friend and fellow ex-Harpooner Patrick Morse of Flagship Brewing Company to see if he had any interest in collaborating on a miniature cask ale festival. As things worked out, the timing of Alex’s homebrew club meeting and the mini cask fest formed a pair of nice bookends to substantial visit to New York City. Not one to want to waste a trip, I approached a number of better beer bars and organizations to provide a number of “Cask Chats” throughout the city.
